// Lobitos grommets Bruno and Mateo with their new Caio Casasco painted boards - While I was back in Peru last Winter, I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to shape Mateo’s first board out in the back shed of his house where I was staying, located right in front of one of Peru’s best waves. His dad, Nacho, a classic guy and great surfer who I became good friends with the year before, was super keen on transforming the shed into a shaping bay to start pumping a few boards out. It was a challenge not only having to shape the board using two chairs as racks, but obtaining the tools needed. We made a trip down to the local hardware store in Talara and after half an hour of miming out what tools we required, we headed back to get started with what we had. All up it ended up taking a few hours to shape up over 2 days, mainly using timber off cuts as blocks wrapped in sandpaper. //
